Maximizing Bathroom Space: Using Computers to Aid Development

According to a recent independent survey, kitchens and bathrooms that are designed with computer assisted design (CAD) are often larger, more natural, and much more functional than those planned only on paper

Modern building techniques have created wonderful improvements in traditional kitchen and bathroom design but computers are able to precisely identify weight loads, measure gaps, and calculate appropriate support structures

Some consumers surveyed feared that the personality would be removed from their bathroom design and that they would end up with a generic looking bathroom. In reality, CAD designed bathrooms were found to have a number of advantages over their conventionally designed equivalents:

  1. Smaller margin of error - Human error is significantly reduced once you factor in the mathematical prowess presented by a computer.
  2. Early simulation - The sketches that are provided by artists can only exhibit so much detail, and though they can give a general idea, they are not very specific. CAD software is capable of producing images that reflect lighting, materials, reflection, opacity, shading, texture, and just about every other variable that affects the way that we (humans) interpret form.
  3. Customisation - Don’t like how your kitchen countertops look in the sketches provided by your designer? CAD software can redraw your kitchen in a matter of minutes.
